Is it justifiable ?  To press Legal-charges? National Anthem being -Sung- slightly distorted/modified

On the opening Ceremony of the Lanka Premiere League (LPL) Held on 30th of July 2023 Popular Sri Lankan singer Umara Sinhawansa sung Sri Lankan national anthem in a very quiet modified if not bit of a distorted manner.

It has been mentioned that, not many people actually make a note what has actually taken place, Only after the video she was singing the national anthem, went through social media, specially YouTube that some individuals started complaining that

“she is singing the national anthem with slightly modified words are being used”

Sri Lankan Parliament Minister in charge of Buddha- Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Vidura Wickramanayake (a portfolio that hardly requires any stringent duties to be done)

Came out lashing at everyone involved(not yet fully-documented)

Minister Vidura Wickramanayake further stated that it will not be tolerated that the national anthem being sung in an unapproved manner or modified words being inserted.

Ministry is contemplating taking action against the recent incident. In addition, we will also take steps to inform the relevant parties in this regard.

—”There is a standard way of singing the Sri Lankan National Anthem, and the standard version is available on YouTube. With these types of incidences & unapproved trends, in the near future National Anthem will be performed while being naked the Minister added.

However it is worth Noting that only a single word has been slightly distorted with her singing the national anthem and it is so unfortunate though some people are making big mockery out of it.

In the video she is repeatedly heard singing the anthem as ‘Namo Namo Mahatha’ instead of ‘Namo Namo Matha’ thus sparking a controversy amongst netizens online, which has also resulted in the current trending hashtag Mahatha across all social media platforms
