United States to provide Ukraine with Depleted Uranium Grade Munition

Citing a report on  Reuters news agency it has been confirmed that the United States will be sending depleted Uranium munition for the Ukrainian armed forces that will be used against Russian forces. Previously only the United Kingdom was the only country that provided Ukraine with such a grade of weaponry. There is credible evidence and claims to support use of depleted Uranium munition will severely negatively impact humans as well as the environment.

These munitions are anticipated to be utilized by Abrams Army tanks. The initial deployment of Abrams tanks to Ukraine is anticipated to occur within the coming weeks. The United States is anticipated to announce the arrival of these weapons with the next donation of military assistance to Ukraine.

It has also been reported that the United States intends to provide Ukraine with cluster bombs. However, this action was also criticized by many US allies. Concerned that this could exacerbate the situation, further.

The United Kingdom had already supplied Ukraine with depleted Uranium munition  back in March of 2023.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has commented “this move would be taking this escalation to a new and very serious stage.” At the same time the UK Russian Embassy has stated “US and its allies are willing to turn Ukraine into “not only an anti-Russian military shooting range, but also a radioactive landfill.”

In fact, when these munitions first emerged on the battlefields of Ukraine, Russia warned the United Kingdom that it would be held responsible for all the harm it had caused to the civilian population and to Russian military personnel.

Surprisingly, both the United States and the United Kingdom have denied the health and environmental risks associated with the use of depleted uranium weapons. The operational mechanism underlying the use of depleted uranium is to allow the weapon to penetrate the thick protective armor of bunkers and tanks.

As a response to the United Kingdom’s decision to provide Ukraine with depleted munitions, the Russian President has decided to deploy nuclear tactical weapons within Belarus. In addition to defending the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons, the Russian president pointed out that the United States has already deployed intercontinental ballistic missiles in five NATO member states in Europe.

The Russian president warned the United States and NATO that Russia would only remove its tactical nuclear weapons. If the United States willingly and completely removes all of its own intercontinental ballistic missiles being deployed throughout Europe and completely dismantles the support infrastructure built to house them.

In addition, the Russian president has stated that Ukraine has received 100 billion dollars in military aid, which has been steadily growing. It increases the likelihood that NATO and Russia will move closer and closer to direct conflict. This is despite the reluctance of many Western nations to provide Ukraine with sophisticated long-range weapons. Specifically fighter aircraft and bombers. Fearing that such a move could escalate the conflict beyond Ukraine’s borders and into NATO territory.
