United States (Pennsylvania State) Introduces only 4 days per week work-plan with— NO ! Pay Reduction…

According to a FOX News article within the state of Pennsylvania in United States the legislators are set to table laws that would enable everyone working on a day job, only be requiring to be working for 4 days with in a week. Additionally under the new legislation their wages will not be deducted.

On the initial stages of it’s implementation companies with more than 500 employees will be required to reduce working hours from 40 hours per week to 32 hours with no deduction in salaries been provided.

According to one of its proponents Democratic Rep. G. Roni Green the intended legislation will exclude smaller and midsized companies being required to abide by the regulation.

According to Green, 40 hours per week were originally introduced back in 1938, and no longer can be considered appropriate or compatible with current way and pace of life within America.

Green stated “due to advancement in science and technology, it has enabled more work to be accomplished with less time been spent, so 40 hours for week cannot be justified with so many changes been taken place throughout the present day work place.

Green had further elaborated the argument with recent surveys conducted it has shown companies have managed to attain productivity even under shorter working hours being implemented.

Green statement was based on research carry doubt on 41 companies within United States and Canada where employees were requested to attend for work for only 4 days per week. And after 6 months of it’s duration the workers had stated “they have experienced less stress and burn out due to reduced working schedule“.

It has been reported that this is not the first bill of its kind been introduced within United States. Previously a bill sponsored by representatives in Dauphin, Chester and Lehigh counties proposed a bill similar feature with added incentivization for companies to implement four-day workweek. Legislators hopes by introducing the company’s them selves will eligible to receive or become eligible for tax incentives and tax credit.
