Chinese Granted(free) Military Communication Gear will Compromise Sri Lanka’s—Over All Security

It was reported  on the 22nd August 2023 in a so-called formal ceremony held at Colombo Sri Lankan armed forces was (GIFTED) or so to speak – provided with Chinese made Battlefield ready military vehicles with Chinese communication-gear being outfitted on them. Of course these vehicles are being provided under full endorsement from the Chinese Liberation Army.

There are many controversies behind this so-cold gift been provided in a very precarious time situation, particularly when a Chinese led research vessel Shi Yan 6 to be docked in Sri Lankan’s oceanic territories with many neighboring countries specially India had objected of its arrival and also expressed their displeasure  towards Sri Lankan authorities in regards permission being granted for the Chinese vessel.

To ease the tension being escalated further with the Indian Counterparts, Sri Lankan authorities had promised India, once the Chinese vessel Shi Yan 6, had arrived Sri Lankan personnel’s will be  sent to the Chinese vessel to safeguard and to assure that the Chinese ship will not be conducting research that could have any potential of compromising security of India. Particularly Indian Naval forces, which are scattered throughout the Indian Ocean that are conducting Patrols.

Is this a total coincidence that within such an uncertain backdrop the Chinese Liberation Army and the Chinese government have decided to provide these military gear for the Sri Lankans.

On the other hand setting aside the unusual timing of these communication vehicles provided they are is another aspect that very few Sri Lankan officials seem not to be concerned about if not aware of. And that is using Chinese made communication hardware.

Well this is because except for very few African Nations, Militaries throughout the rest of the world avert using any sort of a Chinese manufactured communication military gear being used within their own armed forces as precaution and to minimize the risk of being spied upon by the Chinese themselves.

It is truly astonishing that the Sri Lankan defense officials are not aware of what’s been taking place, as the Chinese popular  telecommunication brand  “HUAWEI” has been banned/prohibited throughout military installations by the US government and this  embargo isn’t confined to American Armed forces.

This prohibition of HUAWEI to many major Telecommunication brands originating from China has also been implemented by  just about every European Armed forces as well as by many Middle Eastern Armed forces and many Armies within the South American continent as well.

Unfortunately as mentioned before it seems the Sri Lankan defense officials were more than happy to accept this communication equipment provided to them, assuming as they bolster so much about it as a gift, but in fact its true intention is to  surveil Sri Lankan military apparatus activities.

It needs to be said after these equipment has been accepted and put into use by Sri Lanka armed forces. India and Indian security officials do have a legitimate right to be concerned about. How much has the Sri Lankan armed forces and its overall security infrastructure been compromised by Chinese surveillance technologies and been infiltrated by Chinese intelligence as a direct result of using the very equipment provided by the Chinese themselves.

According to many researchers they have concluded that the Chinese made Military communication gear has a back-door being built into them that completely compromises the privacy of the end users party and makes them totally vulnerable.
