Weapons intended to be used on —Easter Sunday Attacks—Demolished At Deep Sea…

It has been reported that large stockpile minor grade and hand held weapons, particularly large blade knives, swords and components relating to bomb making material have been demolished after being taken to deep  sea by the Sri Lankan Navy ordered by the courts.

The total number of items said to be subjected to being demolished were around 1000. The shipment of items to be demolished were carried to deep see  by Sri Lankan navy’s “SURANIMALA” naval ship and it has sailed from the Navy port of “RANGLA” with Officials from both the Sri Lankan Navy as well as from appointed officials from Ministry of Justice.

Under the orders of Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna Alvisgae, Additional magistrate Mr. Pasan Amarasinghe, Chief Registrar of Justice (individuals IN charged of alleged items) was also present at the navy ship when the demolishing took place.

It has been reported the ship had sailed well into 1000 nautical miles to carry out the demolition operation.
