SL-Healthcare Union’s dubbed “keep your mouth shut” —Circular will not be withdrawn (HM Sec.)

The controversial circular issued by Sri Lanka health ministry that prohibits any government employee working under the health ministry “Providing statements to media without prior permission and approval from the health ministry” will not be withdrawn and any circumstances Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta stated.

It has to be said such a circular  violates Right to free speech as well as Right to Information to the masses….but as always government couldn’t care less…where everything is about phony positive image

what is even bizarre here is that how exactly government was able to push such  and agenda to circular through the parliament when government is under so many international obligations to protect basic human rights.

The circumstances for issuing the statement by Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta is, all trade unions working under the Healthcare ministry has threatened to conduct an all Island wide Strike to protest against the circular.

But the HM secretary Insisted that the circular must be implemented to safeguard and to prevent miss information and disinformation being circulated throughout Sri Lankan society about overall Sri Lankan health care system and it’s image.

Was this interesting?
