North Korea Unveils Tactical Capable Nuclear Submarine

The North Korean military has unveiled a tactical nuclear submarine with nuclear missile launch capability. This unveiling, according to the North Korean leader, will facilitate North Korea’s emergence as a dominant maritime power.

Wednesday 07th September 2023, according to the state-run Run channel of North Korea, the submarine dubbed as “Hero Kim Kun Ok” had been brought out in a military ceremony. Numerous prominent North Korean military officials were present at the event.

This recently disclosed submarine is rumored to play a pivotal role in the DPRK naval force’s underwater offensive operations.

The North Korean leader stated that strategic and tactical plan to continuously enhance the modernity of underwater and surface forces, and push forward with the nuclear weaponization of the Navy.” He had also praised the hard work and dedication of every scientist, researcher, and industrial worker involved in the submarine project’s construction.

According to KCNA, the North Korean leader also inspected another ongoing submarine construction project that is intended for use by the North Korean Navy’s eastern sea fleets.

It has also been reported that the North Korean Navy is in the process of modernizing all of its present nuclear-capable submarine fleets in order to give them the ability to launch nuclear attacks. And the North Korean leader has emphasized the importance and urgency of this task.

Given that the United States has had decided upon to stationed its own fleet of nuclear-capable submarines in South Korea since 1981, the unveiling of this high-tech submarine does not come as a surprise.

How ever US Officials had justified the deployed its own nuclear submarine fleet to South Korea on the grounds that it was necessary to counter North Korea’s provocations. North Korea stated that the move would only “bring the regional military tension to a more critical state and may incite the worst crisis of nuclear conflict in practice.”

Tensions between the US and North Korea have progressively risen in recent months, with US soldiers participating in a flurry of military drills alongside South Korean and Japanese counterparts.

North Korea has tested dozens of weapon systems, including an intercontinental ballistic missile test, in response to all of the military drills conducted with the participation of South Korean and Japanese forces. North Korea has slammed the US, claiming that all of the military drills are intended to approach a full-scale invasion of North Korea.
