Meeting Between North Korean & Russian Leaders to be Held

According to reports published by the New York Times and the Associated Press, the North Korean leader and the Russian president will meet within the next month. The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Russian city of Vladivostok, which is located on the Pacific coast. In addition, it has been disclosed that the North Korean leader will travel in a fully-armored train. And both leaders are anticipated to attend an annual Eastern economic forum scheduled to take place between September 10 and September 13. In addition to participating in the economic forum, the leader of North Korea is scheduled to visit a number of Russian naval bases.

However, neither Moscow nor North Korean government sources have confirmed the planned meeting between the two leaders.

Additionally, it has been affirmed and reported that the North Korean leader does not necessarily travel outside of his country due to safety and security concerns, and that the last time he met with the Russian president was in 2019 in the same city of Vladivostok.

In July of this year, the Russian defense minister visited North Korea, where he attended a military parade commemorating the end of the Korean War alongside the North Korean leader.During this meeting, the Russian defense minister pledged Russia’s willingness to participate in and conduct joint military exercises with North Korean forces. In addition, the Kremlin has revealed that a personal message from the Russian president has been delivered to the North Korean leader.

The New York Times and Associated Press have reported that the leader of North Korea intends to provide military armaments and other military support for the ongoing conflict against Ukraine. In the preceding year, the United States asserted that North Korea did indeed supply Russia with heavy caliber munitions for use against Ukrainian opposition. Nonetheless, both Moscow and the Russian ambassador to North Korea categorically denied these damning allegations.

In the meantime, North Korea has declared its position on supplying Ukraine with modern fighter and bomber aircraft developed in the West. Citing such a measure would indefinitely escalate the conflict beyond Ukraine’s borders into NATO-held territory. And could also ignite a nuclear conflict between Russia and NATO. And the Western Alliance, which supports the Ukrainians, must refrain from taking such action.
