Medical Investigations relating to (106) Under- Aged-Girls being…Abused… Delayed—Kilinochchi District

Citing an article posted on Hiru news.lk at in a district development committee meeting of the Kilinochchci it has been disclosed that in Kilinochchci district throughout the durations of the years between 2020 to 2022, that Medical reports of Investigations pertaining to incidences of around 106 under aged girls being abused has not been received by the requested relevant authorities of both police and the districts judiciary offices.  

As a direct consequence of this backlog of delay police have not been able to conduct proper investigation over these incidents of underaged girls being abused to apprehend responsible suspects and perpetrators to be produced before courts. And what is even more alarming is the fact that these individuals committed these crimes are still at large.

Circumstances for this backlog said to have occurred due to medical officers embedded within these regions have regularly transferred from throughout the mentioned time period. Specifically judicial medical officers embedded within these religions. These details has been disclosed by Director of Northern Province Health Services Mr. P. Sathya Muthari.

However he clarified that he will be personally looking into the circumstances of the backlog being created and will do his utmost best to be provided with the requested reports for the intended police stations and for the branches of the judiciary offices before the 31st of August.
