Proposed Bridge Between India-Sri Lanka (SL Government) must seek—People’s Approval
The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence, Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith had Heavily criticized Government on it’s proposal to be construct land bridge between Sri Lanka and India. he said “By breaking and then selling parts of Sri Lanka to foreign Nations, government is leading the country towards it’s gradual and inevitable distruction”.
The Archbishop had made these comments while attending a Sunday mass held at the National Basilica Church in Thewatte, Ragama on 27th August.
“We have never been slaves to any Nation nor we ever wish to be” Sri Lanka always had been a free and an Independent country”.
The present day government has absolutely no mandate or approval by the Sri Lankan mass public to carry out such an audacious proposal without being consented.
Archbishop further clarified And if such a strategic plan were to be executed it is completely unethical and wrong.
“We are being forced to bow down to other Nations. People who are in charge making decisions that are completely stupid and senseless leading our Nation towards its gradual destruction and it’s eventual decay. Through these actions in the long term we will lose our freedoms as a free nation to make our own decisions”.
