Wild-Life Parks – Udawalawa & Yala to be Closed. Pending Decision.

Wildlife conservation department presently under reviewing & considering to put on hold entrance to National parks of Yala and Udawalawa due to severe drought taking place within the parks and wild animals finding it difficult to attain necessary water to sustain them selves.

An official decision has not yet been taken but rumored to be pending that will come into effect as there is no sign of sufficient rain fall for the parks to be received with in the near future.

It further needs to be clarified as what prompts wild animals to roam across parks, is to seek water and food and if there isn’t adequate water available with in the territories which they are travelling across, they will usually opted to stay and roam near sources of water, as a result wild animal’s movement across through the parks will be heavily confined to a limited areas.

So for the tourists coming for the parks in the hope of observing wild animals there will be very few to non to be seen due to the current circumstances.

It further can be said that this is decision has been taken to prevent the criticism of both the wildlife parks and wildlife department will likely come under, due to the arriving tourist making the complaint as “they were not able to saw much of wildlife animals with in the through park tours they have taken.
