Countries Taking Our Medical Doctors—Must Pay (Compensation) to SL ..Because we’ve trained them with our Own Money.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe has pointed out that he is expecting to make a notification if not raise the concern in a serious manner with the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding Sri Lankan trained doctors leaving the country to be employed as medical doctors with in throughout developed and western countries.

It is so unfair to highly Immoral that people who have trained through the country’s taxpayers money, after graduating and only working for couple a of years then afterwards leave the country all together to work within the same profession in a much more higher wages paid foreign countries.

Furthermore what President added can be explained as this “within certain  western countries, to whatever reason their very own qualified medical professionals are leaving their own countries National Healthcare Systems, particularly United Kingdom (NHS) and also in Many European Nations as well, and afterwards employ them selves within the Private Health Care system. As a result there is large void of unfilled medical doctor positions.

And to fulfill that required positions these Western governments opted to hire qualified medical graduates and doctors from third world countries like Sri Lanka. This move leaves poorer countries like ours Medical health care system under considerable strain and imminent vulnerability.

This Trend is completely & utterly unacceptable from third world countries prospective, and needs some resolution, either they need to look into why there medical professional are leaving their own National Health care system, and take necessary steps to prevent it.

Hiring & recruiting medical professionals primarily from third world countries like Sri Lanka to compensate for the vacant positions is not the solution. Because these medical professionals have been trained by using taxpayers money and resources.

These western Nations who recruited them needs to realize that and they need to be considerate enough to repay that amount we have invested in them as compensation, if not provide us, countries like Sri Lanka with some kind of solid financial assistance that equivalent to compensation.

President further added it is not just doctors that are been taken but also other professionals working within engineering and information technology fields as well, President stated what is the country will be left with if everybody were to be gone.
