What the “heck” is Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) 🤪 😳 🤪 😱 ??

In a country where almost (2/3) two third of the population barely struggles to make ends meet, the government appointed Department of Census & Statistics  has published a absurd figures stating the countries inflation has dropped to two digit numbers……bla bla bla 🙃🙃🙃🙃

It is not very clear what exactly he is Sri Lankan government, by publishing these figures expect to achieve ?

Of course we had to apologize for the above picture because these figures are of the last year but factually the numbers have hardly changed from last year to date august month year 2023. In fact if one is to do an enquiry some if not considerable number of items listed above prices haven’t changed at all ?

Well How much is an Egg as of to date ? (01 august 2023)……It is actually almost 60.00

Is it a some kind of international PR strategy

To a appease global community ! Particularly  for tourists arrived within the country.

And of course to appease the NGOs as World food program, to UN,

Not to mention IMF and world bank…Government is obliged to come up with so-cold Positive numbers and to demonstrate they are making progress in economic recovery by providing benefits  for the majority of the population

Because from average Sri Lankans prospective it has absolutely no meaning or practical reality to involved in it. Because for everyday used consumer products particularly food and medication… Sky Rocketed prices still remains extremely high ! and hardly anything have lowered significantly.

But the Government and all the Pro-Government Press Ideologs keep putting out news and numbers like these, that hardly have any meaning to them.

Was this interesting?

Thanks for your feedback!
