ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපද යුද දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නියෝජ්ය සහකාර ලේකම් ආචාර්ය ඇන්ඩෲ බයර්ස් මහතා අද (2025 නොවැම්බර් 14) තානාපති කාර්යාලයේදී තානාපති මහින්ද සමරසිංහ මහතා හමුවිය. ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදය සහ ශ්රී ලංකාව අතර ආරක්ෂක අමාත්යාංශයේදී අද (2025 නොවැම්බර් 14) විධිමත් අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුමක් (MOU) අත්සන් කිරීමේ පසුබිමක මෙම සාකච්ඡාව පැවැත්විණි. ඇමරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදයෙන් ශ්රී ලංකාවට පුහුණුව, සමුද්රීය ක්ෂේත්ර දැනුවත්භාවය සහ අනාගත හමුදා දෘඩාංග සහාය යන ක්ෂේත්රවල තවදුරටත් සහයෝගීතාවය පිළිබඳව තානාපති සමරසිංහ මහතා සහ ආචාර්ය බයර්ස් මහතා සාකච්ඡා කළහ. යුද දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ දකුණු සහ අග්නිදිග ආසියාව සඳහා නියෝජ්ය සහකාර ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ තෝමස් හොග්ස් මහතා, ආචාර්ය ඇන්ඩෲ බයර්ස් සමඟ සාකච්ඡාව සඳහා සහභාගී විය.
මෙම සාකච්ඡාවේදී තානාපති සමරසිංහ මහතා සමඟ නියෝජ්ය දූත මණ්ඩල ප්රධානී මධුක වික්රමාරච්චි, ආරක්ෂක උපදේශක කොමදෝරු දුමිඳු අබේවික්රම සහ උපදේශිකා චතුරි පෙරේරා යන අය සහභාගී වූහ.

Dr. Andrew Byers, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of War called on Ambassador Mahinda Samarasinghe at the Embassy today (14 November 2025). The discussion was held in the backdrop of the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today (14th November, 2025) at the Ministry of Defence between the United States and Sri Lanka. Ambassador Samarasinghe and Dr. Byers discussed further collaboration in the areas of training, maritime domain awareness and future military hardware assistance from the U.S. to Sri Lanka. Dr. Byers was accompanied by Mr. Thomas Hogges from the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for South and Southeast Asia.
Accompanying Ambassador Samarasinghe at this discussion were Deputy Chief of Mission Madhuka Wickramarachchi, Defense Advisor Commodore Dumindu Abeywickrama, and Counselor Chathuri Perera.
